Kenosha police investigate report of suspicious activity involving a child

KENOSHA -- The Kenosha Police Department is investigating a report of suspicious activity of an unknown individual following a child.

Officials say the incident occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Friday, January 15th, while the child was walking to school. The child stated that while walking toward the intersection of 65th Street and 20th Avenue, he/she saw a black male with a mustache and dark clothing who is approximately 40 years of age, slim build and 6’ 2” tall.

The child told police the suspect began following him/her for several blocks. When he/she reached a friend’s front porch, the suspect yelled to him/her inquiring why he/she wasn’t at school.

It is unknown how or when the suspect left the area.

Although there was no physical contact, the child believed this activity was suspicious and the suspect did follow and try to engage in conversation.
