MPD arrests convicted felon with criminal record dating back to 1990 after US Bank robbed

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police say a suspect, wanted in connection with several robberies, was arrested on Tuesday, February 9th, one day after he allegedly committed his most recent robbery at a bank on Milwaukee's northwest side.

Officers responded to the US Bank near Capitol and Lisbon around 11:30 a.m. Monday for a report of a robbery.

Police say a male suspect walked into the bank and demanded money from a teller before he fled from the scene.

Through video surveillance, MPD detectives positively identified the suspect as a 54-year-old Milwaukee man.

Officers located the suspect's vehicle near 14th and Kilbourn on Tuesday, and took him into custody.

Police say the suspect, a convicted felon with a criminal record dating back to 1990, is believed to have committed at least five other similar robberies in the past week.

MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days for charges.
