State elections board predicts 10 percent turnout Tuesday

MADISON — Wisconsin's Government Accountability Board is predicting about 10 percent of eligible voters will go to the polls Tuesday for the spring primary election.

The Feb. 16 primary election includes the three-way Wisconsin Supreme Court race between Court of Appeals Judge Joanne Kloppenburg, Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Joe Donald and recently appointed state Supreme Court Justice Rebecca Bradley. Other items on the ballot include races for circuit court judgeships and local government seats.

GAB Director Kevin Kennedy said in a news release they expect similar turnout to the 2011 Supreme Court primary, which brought 9.6 percent of eligible voters to the polls.

The top two candidates will advance to the April 5 spring election and presidential primary.
