One organization is using miniature horses to put smiles on countless faces

WEST BEND -- Animals have a way of lifting people's spirits -- and many cats and dogs serve as therapy pets. But one organization is using miniature horses to put smiles on countless faces. Laura spent the morning in West Bend with Tiny Hooves, Big Hearts.

Tiny Hooves, Big Heart Miniature Horse Therapy (website)

Tiny Hooves Big Heart Miniature Horse Therapy brings our miniature horse, Tex to people who need therapeutic healing. Tex provides pet therapy to children and adults in schools, hospitals, hospices and home care who have experienced emotional and physical abuse, severe illness, disabilities and other difficulties. The goal is to enhance, nurture and heal the human spirit through the gentleness and magical ability of a horse. Miniature horses make phenomenal comfort animals and are very kind and gentle with proper training. The size of a Miniature horse allows them to maneuver around medical equipment and other obstacles. Some say that looking into a horses eyes is a reflection of ourselves, our soul.
