29-year-old Milwaukee man arrested after shots fired near 40th & Silver Spring

MILWAUKEE -- District Four officers on patrol on the northwest side arrested a man who fired shots and tried to run away from police.

The officers responded the area of 40th Street and Silver Spring around 8:50 p.m. on February 24 for a report of shots fired. At the location, the officers heard the shots and saw a man run away. The officers caught up with him and took him into custody.

A .45 caliber Hi-Point firearm and two spent .45 caliber casings were located near the suspect. During a search of the suspect’s backpack, officers found 27 grams of marijuana.

The suspect is a 29-year-old Milwaukee man. MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
