Watertown police: Suspect turns himself in after search involving US Marshals

WATERTOWN -- Watertown police say a suspect wanted by US Marshals voluntarily turned himself into police on Monday, February 22nd following a search for this suspect in Watertown.

Early on Monday morning, around 7:00 a.m., Watertown police were contacted by the US Marshals Office, Eastern District of Wisconsin indicating they were in Watertown looking to take a 28-year-old man into custody on a felony weapons violation warrant -- issued by officials in South Dakota.

Police and US Marshals checked several homes in Watertown for this suspect -- but he wasn't found.

He was later seen by US Marshals in a vehicle on Main Street.

The suspect fled from the vehicle near Main Street and Church Street.

US Marshals requested assistance from both Watertown police and the Dodge County Sheriff's Office during a search for this suspect.

He later voluntarily turned himself into the Watertown Police Department and was taken into custody.

The suspect was subsequently turned over to the US Marshals.
