DOT to conduct repair work on section of Locust Street Bridge over I-43 Wednesday

MILWAUKEE -- The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) will be conducting repair work to a section of the Locust St. Bridge over I-43. The work will begin on Wednesday morning at 8:00 a.m. and will require the left eastbound lane on the Locust Street Bridge to be closed until such time that the repairs are complete.

Milwaukee County bridge crews will repair a segment of the roadway surface that is roughly 8 feet wide by 16 feet long. The repairs and cure time for the concrete is expected to last until the afternoon of Monday March 14th. Weather conditions will have an impact of the length of time needed for the concrete to cure.

There will remain one lane of traffic open to eastbound traffic over the bridge with both westbound lanes remaining open. There are not expected to be any impacts to I-43 or the ramps at Locust Street.

Motorists are advised to plan ahead and stay alert in the work zone. Use 511wi.gov for up to date information and travel times.
