City of Milwaukee DPW: 96 salt trucks out on main, side streets as rain, sleet and snow fell

MILWAUKEE -- Officials with the city of Milwaukee's Department of Public Works (DPW) offered an update as it relates to the salting of streets amid rain, sleet and snow that fell in the Milwaukee area on Thursday, March 24th.

DPW officials said salting began on main streets at 2:30 p.m. -- using 96 salt trucks.

Crews would be moving to side streets once the main streets were salted.

DPW officials said they would be continuing to monitor the forecast and road conditions.

Milwaukee County Sheriff's officials said from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, there were 25 crashes with property damage only, and just one crash involving injury. Deputies responded to 26 disabled vehicles.
