There’s a day for everything — and March 25th is International Waffle Day!

The tradition began in Sweden. Folks celebrate the beginning of spring by eating lots and lots of waffles.

The first waffles in the Americas were brought in by the pilgrims in 1620.

Incidentally, March 25th is the day for the international celebration, The United States honors waffles on a different day — August 24th. That’s the day in 1869 when the first waffle iron was patented in the U.S.
