MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee’s South Shore Park is getting some upgrades.

Friday, March 25th the park received two grants totaling $900,000 for the revitalization of the beach and park.

One of the grants was awarded to improve the water quality and overall health of the beach, such as reducing water pollutants.

The other grant will be used to re-develop the waterfront — including reconstructing the boat launch area.

“We recognize how important this great asset is to the community. It’s a unique combination of public space and lake frontage and it has arguably one of the best views in Milwaukee,” said South Shore Yacht Club Vice Commodore, Jerry Kedziora.

Some other improvements include new landscaping for the park and improvements to the kayak and canoe launch.
