68-year-old Milwaukee man struck by vehicle, killed near Appleton and Congress

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred Sunday night, April 3rd.

It happened near Appleton and Congress around 11:30 p.m.

Police say a 29-year-old Milwaukee man was driving eastbound on W. Appleton Avenue when the victim, a 68-year-old Milwaukee man, crossed the street mid-block and was struck.

The victim, who has been identified as Alan Jeffrey, was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of multiple blunt force injuries.

The suspect remained at the scene and was taken into custody for operating with a suspended license and causing death.

MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
