Developing: Altercation leads to gunfire, one wounded at West Allis gas station

WEST ALLIS -- Officials say an altercation at a West Allis gas station led to gunfire on Tuesday afternoon, April 5th.

West Allis police say they responded to the scene near 96th and Lincoln Ave. around 3:30 p.m. They learned one person fired a gunshot which struck another person in the leg.

An off-duty West Allis Police Officer saw the shooting, intervened and took the suspected shooter into custody.

The victim of the shooting, a 29-year-old man from Milwaukee, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of apparent non-life threatening injuries.

The suspected shooter is a 20-year-old man.

West Allis police are not searching for any other suspects.
