Haymarket Square apartment development for low-income residents, veterans moves forward

MILWAUKEE — Construction will begin soon in Haymarket Square in Milwaukee to build low-rent apartments for veterans.

The apartments will be located near 4th and McKinley at the site of a former storage building.

By the end of 2017, it will be renovated into 72 apartments.

All but eight of the units will be reserved for people with low income.

Some will also have a preference for Milwaukee County veterans.
