Grand Champion Eats & Treats food competition at WI State Fair open to small businesses

WEST ALLIS -- Bragging rights, ribbons and prize money await Wisconsin food companies who enter their best sweets, snack foods and canned products in the new Grand Champion Eats & Treats Competition at this year’s State Fair. Wisconsin State Fair will run Thursday, August 4th through Sunday, August 14th at Wisconsin State Fair Park in West Allis.

Formerly known as Jammin’ Jamboree, Grand Champion Eats & Treats is now even bigger! This Wisconsin State Fair-style food competition is for small Wisconsin businesses that have annual sales under $250,000. Companies can enter their shelf-stable chocolates, candies, salty snack foods, canned products and other tasty items in the following twelve classes. Winners will also be chosen among all entries for Best of Show and Best Packaging.

        Fairgoers can attend the judging on Thursday, August 11th beginning at 10 a.m. in the Horticulture, Craft & Culinary Pavilion. In addition to judging, up to 20 companies that enter the competition will be selected to provide samples to Fair Guests.
