"Biggest, boldest line-up of events:" Milwaukee Beer Week is celebrating its 7th year



MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee Beer Week is celebrating its 7th year with the biggest, boldest line-up of events yet. Taking place in and around Milwaukee April 16 – 23, the eight-day extravaganza will play host to over 100 events designed for sampling and experiencing incredible craft brews from Wisconsin and across the country.

Jim McCabe, the founder of MKE Brewing Company, joins FOX6 WakeUp with more on this year's bold lineup and top beer trends.

The list of events continues to grow every day and features both new and returning favorites – many which are free to attend.

Highlights include, but are not limited to:

  • Saturday, April 16:           Second Annual "The Wreckoning" Surly Tap Takeover and Patio Party at Vanguard. Chefs from Surly Brewing and Vanguard collaborate on craft sausages and grill out on the patio.

  • Sunday, April 17:              Find Your Favorite Lawn Mower Beer at Palm Tavern. Cleanse your pallet from a


day of beer week events with some sessionable craft beer in cans.

  • Monday, April 18:            Goose Island Tap Takeover at Dugout 54

  • Tuesday, April 19:            Sour Power with New Glarus at Steny's featuring limited release sour offerings

  • Wednesday, April 20:     3rd Annual Barrel Aged Beer Night at Palm Tavern. Enjoy rare barrel aged beers


from around the world.

  • Wednesday, April 20:     Central Waters Tap Invasion at Burnhearts featuring limited release tappings

  • Thursday, April 21:           Barrel Aged 3 Sheeps Beer Event at Stack'd. Enjoy limited release 3 Sheeps
