Free public skate: BMO Harris Bradley Center to host "Memories on Ice" April 24

MILWAUKEE --  Sharpen your skates and get ready to show off your triple axel – the BMO Harris Bradley Center will host “Memories on Ice,” a free opportunity for the public to skate on the Center’s home ice, from Noon to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 24. Paul Jansen joins FOX6 WakeUp with the details.

Memories On Ice: Free Public Skate (website)

The free event, made possible by the support of BMO Harris Bank, will celebrate all of the ice-related shows and sports events the Center has hosted since its opening in 1988. With the departure of the Milwaukee Admirals following this season, this may well be the last time the public will have an opportunity to skate at the Center.  Guests can bring their own skates or rent them for a modest fee at the Center, courtesy of Pettit National Ice Center, while supplies last.

Skating memorabilia, including autographed skates and photos from past Olympic Champions, a Wisconsin Badgers jersey signed by the entire 2006 NCAA championship team, and much more will be on display, along with an opportunity to sit on the Zamboni!  An entertaining and retrospective skating highlight video will play on the scoreboard during the open skate and discounted concession services will be available throughout the event.

Participants and spectators are directed to enter the Potawatomi Gate and Northwestern Mutual Gate entrances off of 4th Street for this event.
