Two people "very seriously" injured in shooting near McDonald's on Good Hope

MILWAUKEE -- Police say two people suffered "very serious injuries" when they were shot while in a vehicle near 38th and Good Hope on Sunday, April 24th.

Police say the shots were fired into the victims' vehicle on Good Hope -- by a suspect in another vehicle.

The shooting happened around 6:30 p.m.

The victims' vehicle ended up in a McDonald's parking lot (near Teutonia and Good Hope) -- where there was a heavy police presence Sunday evening.

The victims were taken to the hospital.

Good Hope Road was shut down between 38th and 41st Streets, and Teutonia Avenue was shut down between Green Tree and Good Hope Road following this shooting.

Police weren't immediately sure whether the victims knew the suspect or whether this was a random crime.

"This is still a good neighborhood. The Police Academy is right down the street. Random acts of violence can happen virtually anywhere. We're going to search the area for witnesses and evidence and make sure we don't miss anything," Jutiki Jackson, Milwaukee Police Department inspector said.

The search is ongoing for the suspect.
