Amtrak: Expanded program allows passengers to travel with small dogs, cats

MILWAUKEE -- Amtrak announced on Thursday, April 28th the expansion of a program that allows customers to travel with their pets.

Small dogs and cats in carriers can join their owners on the Hiawatha Service, Blue Water, Wolverine Service, Pere Marquette and Missouri River Runner Service trains. Officials say pet reservations are now being accepted for travel beginning Monday, May 2nd, on these state-sponsored routes in Michigan, Missouri and Wisconsin.

Dogs and cats traveling with this program must meet the following requirements:
