Man arrested for allegedly forcing pregnant girlfriend into prostitution

DELAWARE COUNTY, Indiana -- An Indiana man is behind bars for allegedly forcing his pregnant girlfriend to perform sex acts for money.

Huston Briscoe was arrested by Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies Tuesday evening, April 26th on preliminary charges of possession of paraphernalia, human trafficking, prostitution and promoting prostitution.

According to deputies, Briscoe forced his girlfriend, who is eight months pregnant, to become a prostitute. The woman's friend contacted deputies after she claimed Briscoe would beat her if she did not agree to the prostitution.

According to court records, the woman told police she was verbally and physically abused when she refused to perform sex acts. She also claimed Briscoe tried to break her arm.

Deputies said Briscoe acted as the woman’s “pimp” and managed her dates and finances.

The woman was forced to prostitute herself six to eight times each night.

Deputies also said Briscoe would text the "Johns" and wouldn't tell the woman where she was going for her dates. Court records show he drove her across the state and even to Ohio and Kentucky for dates.

Briscoe allegedly advertised the woman on the website Backpage as being pregnant.

The woman and her friend agreed to help deputies catch Briscoe by setting up a fake prostitution sting at a local hotel. When Briscoe was caught, he allegedly told deputies he didn’t know the woman was actually performing sex acts and claimed he thought she was only giving massages.

Court records show the woman was so fearful for her safety, when deputies arrived to the hotel during the arrest she gave them a hug and said, "thank you guys so much for helping me get out of this."

Briscoe was arrested and is being held on a $20,000 bond.
