Eight of 12 Samoyeds rescued from Burnett County available for adoption Tuesday!
MILWAUKEE -- Eight of the twelve Samoyeds rescued from Burnett County last week will be available for adoption at the Wisconsin Humane Society’s Milwaukee Campus TUESDAY, May 10th!
The shelter opens at noon.
The remaining three Samoyeds will be available over the next few days, according to Wisconsin Humane Society officials.
WHS officials said in a statement issued to FOX6 News that Jade, JJ, Amethyst Sky, Sambuca, Sable, Diamond’s Sparkle, Tanzy and Raven are hoping to find new homes on Tuesday.
The dogs range in age from six months to five years.

Adopters should know that all of them will need housetraining, frequent grooming, lots of exercise and patience as they learn to trust new people, WHS officials said.
WHS officials are hoping (but not requiring) they'll be placed with adopters who already have a social dog, as the Samoyeds will adjust better with a canine sibling to show them the ropes.
Adoptions are first-come, first-served, as long as it’s a good fit for each dog and family, WHS officials said.

The dogs were rescued on Wednesday, May 4th at the request of the Burnett County Health & Human Services and Sheriff's Departments.
Overwhelmed by trying to care for too many dogs, the owner surrendered 12 of the dogs to WHS -- and they were then en route to Milwaukee -- to be cared for at the Wisconsin Humane Society.
The dogs arrived at the Wisconsin Humane Society Milwaukee Campus on Wednesday evening and were given clean, warm beds to unwind in after a long day of travel.
Then, they received thorough medical exams, behavior assessments, spay/neuter surgeries, much needed bathing, grooming, microchips and vaccinations.
WHS officials said there has been a ton of interest in adopting these dogs.
