WAUKESHA COUNTY — An Oconomowoc man is accused of possession of child pornography, and officials say children’s underwear was recovered from his bedroom in his home on Concord Road.

The accused is 34-year-old Adam Gross of Oconomowoc, who is facing 10 counts of possession of child pornography.

According to the criminal complaint, a special agent connected to an IP address in February of 2016, and utilizing undercover investigative software, was able to download 11 files believed to be child pornography. Investigators learned the IP address was registered to Charter Communications, and in March, a subpoena was obtained for information related to the IP address through Charter.

Investigators learned the IP address was assigned to a home on Concord Road in Oconomowoc.

Officials on May 5th responded to that home, and executed a search warrant.

The complaint indicates Adam Gross came out of the home and sat on the front steps. At one point, Gross fell forward, striking his nose on the pavement, and his body began to shake for a couple of seconds. Emergency personnel responded and Gross was taken to the hospital.

The complaint indicates “numerous items” were seized from the home as the search warrant was executed, including a hard drive from a desktop computer taken from a bedroom containing identifiers and clothing belonging to Gross. According to the complaint, an analysis by a digital forensic examiner resulted in the location of “thousands of images” of investigative interest on the hard drive — and a “preview disk” containing 20 images appearing to be child pornography.

The 10 counts of possession of child pornography filed against Gross are for six images and four videos found on the hard drive.

According to the complaint, agents seized children’s underwear that were vacuum sealed in a pack in Gross’ bedroom.

Investigators spoke with Gross’ father, who lives with Gross. He indicated he had “no idea” about Gross’ alleged online activity, and said he was “sickened” and “wanted to throw up.”

Gross made his initial appearance in court in this case on May 6th.

A preliminary hearing was scheduled for May 13th — and cash bond was set at $5,000, along with a $10,000 signature bond.
