Seymour teacher charged with child enticement in Internet sex sting

ASHWAUBENON — A teacher in the Seymour school district is charged in an Internet sex sting.

Thirty-four-year-old Nick Darnick was charged Monday in Brown County with child enticement and using a computer to enable a sex crime, both felonies. Cash bond was set at $25,000, and Darnick remains in jail.

Ashwaubenon Public Safety officers say Darnick was arrested Friday when he traveled from Seymour to Ashwaubenon to meet with what he thought was a 15-year-old girl.

Seymour schools superintendent Peter Ross said the district was notified Friday of Darnick's arrest. The teacher has been placed on paid administrative leave.

According to the district's website, Darnick teaches high school and eighth-grade physical education. He also is the varsity girls' basketball coach.
