Racine police identify 19-year-old man shot during home invasion robbery near 19th & Taylor

RACINE -- Racine police have identified the man who suffered multiple gunshot wounds near 19th and Taylor Avenue on Sunday night, May 8th. Police say the shooting occurred during a home invasion robbery.

It happened around 9:45 p.m.

Police say 19-year-old Tyler Strausser was found suffering from several gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital in Racine, and then transferred to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee via Flight for Life.

Police are seeking one suspect in this case -- described as a black male in his late teens to early 20s, standing around 6' tall and weighing 160 pounds.

At the time of the shooting the suspect was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and black pants. He was also armed with a handgun.
