TAUNTON, Massachusetts — Six people were stabbed during a series of assaults Tuesday, May 10th in Massachusetts, according to Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn. Two were stabbed at a house and an additional four at a restaurant in a mall, he said at a news conference.

Two victims have died, as well as the suspect, Dave Procopio, director of media communications for Massachusetts State Police, said earlier Tuesday night.

The suspect’s motive remains under investigation but authorities say there is no connection to terrorism.

Four of the stabbings occurred at the Sliver City Galleria Mall after the assailant crashed a motor vehicle into the front of a store, Procopio said.

An off-duty law enforcement officer shot the assailant at the mall, authorities said.
