Motorcyclist taken to the hospital via Flight for Life after crash involving box truck in Cedarburg

CEDARBURG -- Two people had to be taken to the hospital, one of them via Flight for Life after a crash involving a box truck and a motorcycle that happened in Cedarburg on Thursday afternoon, May 19th.

It happened around 2:15 on Washington Avenue.

Officials with the Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office say the box truck, being driven by a 67-year-old Grafton man, was headed northbound on Washington Avenue, and a motorcycle, operated by a 26-year-old Menomonee Falls man was headed southbound.

The box truck was attempting to turn westbound onto Sycamore Drive, and failed to yield to the motorcycle, which struck the box truck.



The operator of the motorcycle was taken to the hospital via Flight for Life with serious injuries.

The driver of the box truck was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. That driver was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way.
