Attention drivers: Get ready for some overnight closures on the Zoo Interchange

MILWAUKEE -- Get ready for some overnight closures on the Zoo Interchange. Ryan Luck with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation joins FOX6 WakeUp to talk about everything that's going to impact your commute.

Zoo Interchange Project:

Friday 5/20 - Tuesday 5/24:
Various over night freeway and ramp closures on I-94 and I-41. Drivers should be aware that they may be detoured over night.

Wednesday 5/25:
Work on I-41/894 overnight for restripe and new signing. Only one lane will be open overnight. Drivers will notice a new traffic pattern in the morning (Thursday)

I-94 West Overnight Full Closure at 68th Street
I-94 East Overnight Full Closure at Moorland

In the morning on Thursday 5/26:

I-94 East traffic will be on the new roadway
I-94 East exit to 84th Street will open to southbound 84th Street only
I-94 East exit to 70th Street will open
(Drivers should be aware of the new patterns and slow down)

Following the Memorial Day holiday on Wednesday (6/1) Crews will need to close one lane on I-94 East between 84th Street and 68th Street for about 3 weeks to quickly reconstruct the area in the median where the eastbound traffic had been traveling.

By the end of June the east-leg of the Zoo Interchange (from 92nd to 70th) will be complete including the new interchange at 84th Street.

Quick heads up for Sunday night (5/22) the I-41/45 project in the Richfield area will be closing US45 at the I-45/45 split from 7pm to 6am. If you are heading to West Bend you will stay on I-41 and take the next exit (HWY 145) to re-enter US45.
