Gov. Scott Walker releases names of potential David Prosser replacements

MADISON — Gov. Scott Walker's office has released the names of 10 applicants looking to replace retiring Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice David Prosser.

The list Walker's office released Friday includes attorney Andrew Brown of River Falls; Madison attorney Claude Covelli; state appellate judges Mark Gundrum, Brian Hagedorn and Thomas Hruz; Jefferson County Circuit Judge Randy Koschnick and father of Walker's chief staff attorney; Marinette County Circuit Judge James Morrison; Public Service Commission Ellen Nowak; Milwaukee attorney Paul Scoptur; and attorney Jim Troupis.

The list also includes an 11th unnamed applicant. Walker's office said that applicant requested confidentiality.

Walker expects to appoint Prosser's replacement by the time he retires on July 31.
