Caledonia police seek suspect accused of passing counterfeit $20 bills

CALEDONIA -- Caledonia police are looking for a man accused of passing counterfeit $20 bills.

According to police, the suspect, a white man between the ages of 25 and 35, standing 6' tall and weighing 280 pounds entered the Speedway gas station on Douglas Avenue near 4 Mile Road on May 26th and attempted to purchase a pre-paid debit card with the counterfeit bills.

The transaction was denied.

Police say the man identified himself as “Ben,” but did not remain on scene when police were called.

He was described as having a goatee, and was wearing a dark blue MLB cap. He has tattoo “sleeves” along both arms, and a calf tattoo.  The suspect is 25-35 years old.

The suspect was seen leaving the area in a silver Chevy Cruze with a cracked windshield.
