Day on the job: Milwaukee's Heavy Urban Rescue Team trains on high-rise building

MILWAUKEE -- If you happened to notice a lot of people looking up near Water and Kilbourn in downtown Milwaukee on Wednesday, June 1st, there was a reason. Milwaukee's Heavy Urban Rescue Team (HURT) was training on a high-rise building.

The HURT team practiced for two different rescue scenarios at the Intercontinental Hotel.

The training was designed to simulate emergencies with construction or maintenance workers that would be on the outside of the building -- possibly window washers or construction workers.

About 25 Milwaukee firefighters took part in Wednesday's training -- which lasted about three hours.

The entire HURT team (90 members total) trains as a full team four times a year.
