MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission (MADACC) announced Wednesday, June 1st that adoption fees for all adult cats will be waived and adoption fees for adult pit bulls will be reduced to $45 this entire summer starting June 1st through October 31st .

MADACC, which faces constant capacity challenges during the warmer months, is asking the community to consider adopting one of their many wonderful adult cats and pit bull terrier mixes (adult animals are 6 months and older) that were not reclaimed by their families and are now ready to join new families.

Adoptapolooza 2016 is a combination of two amazing programs sponsored by Friends of MADACC, the non-profit that supports MADACC. Pitbull Proud, which acknowledges that of the thousands of dogs that MADACC brings in each year, approximately 45% of those dogs were pit bull terriers or pit bull mixes.

In honor of those 45%, MADACC will offer a discounted adoption fee of $45 for pit bull terriers and mixes adopted June through October.

The Kitties in the City adoption promotion waives fees on the thousands of wonderful adult cats that come into MADACC each year.

Waived and reduced adoption fees include spay/neuter surgery, microchip, and up-to-date vaccines. A $12 license fee will apply for all Milwaukee County residents.

MADACC is able to hold this event after receiving a grant from Friends of MADACC. These funds will be used to sterilize, vaccinate, and microchip the pets making it possible for them to find new homes.

In order to expedite the adoption process and cut down on wait times, MADACC is encouraging interested adopters to complete a free and non-binding adoption application for pre-approval ahead of your arrival at MADACC.

You do not need to have an appointment to stop in and you can come in anytime MADACC is open to the public to see the adoptable cats available in our lobby. You can find more information on their website at www.madacc.org or call 414-649-8640. An online application is available here: http://madacc.org/madacc-adoption-application-3/.
