Caledonia police use Narcan to save life of possible heroin overdose victim

CALEDONIA -- Caledonia policed saved the life of a 33-year-old Wind Lake woman who was found unconscious in the bathroom of a Sia Mart— possibly from a heroin overdose.

Officers were dispatched to the Sai Mart located on 7 Mile Road near I-94 for an unresponsive woman in the bathroom. Upon arrival, CPR was performed on the victim.

At that time, officers realized the victim may be suffering an opioid overdose, and Narcan was administered. The victim did not respond and had no pulse.

When rescue arrived on scene, another dose of Narcan was administered and the victim woke up and became combative.

Police say heroin and drug paraphernalia was located at the scene.

Authorities say the victim was at the Sai Mart with her friend.

The victim was transported to Wheaton Franciscan Hospital, treated and released. The victim and her friend were arrested for Possession of Heroin and Drug Paraphernalia, both were taken to the Racine County Jail.
