Scholarship now being offered in honor of Quinn Johnson-Harris, airman killed in Afghanistan



MILWAUKEE -- There was a special honor Thursday, June 9th for a Milwaukee Airman killed in Afghanistan. Quinn Johnson-Harris now has a scholarship in his name.

The scholarship is being offered at Milwaukee College Prep School, located near 12th and Garfield. Johnson-Harris attended that school.

The scholarship is for $2,500 and is renewable for four years.

Each year, a new student will be granted the scholarship.

"The scholarship goes towards a student that kind of is like Quinn. A student that they felt was energetic like Quinn and helped out in the community like Quinn," Fatia Johnson, Johnson-Harris' sister said.

21-year-old Johnson-Harris was killed in October 2015 after an Air Force cargo plane crashed.

The cause of the crash was ruled pilot error.

Johnson-Harris was laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery.
