According to a criminal complaint, a woman driving a black GMC Terrain southbound on S. 30th, was at a complete stop behind another vehicle when a tan minivan ran into her -- forcing her GMC to hit the vehicle stopped in front of hers.

The complaint states the woman exited her vehicle in an attempt to explain the incident to the driver in front of her, when she noticed two male subjects get out of the tan minivan that struck her GMC from behind and start to walk towards her.

The woman tells police she got scared so she got back into her vehicle. That's when one of the male subjects, later identified as 18-year-old Michael Winfield of Milwaukee, opened her car door and pointed a firearm at her face demanding she get out of the car.

According to the complaint, Winfield pulled the woman out of the vehicle at gunpoint.

The woman had her three-year-old son in the back of the vehicle at the time of the incident. The complaint states after Winfield pulled her from the vehicle, she opened the back door of the car to get him out, when she was struck in the back of the head by Winfield with the gun.

That didn't stop the woman from continuing to retrieve her son from the backseat. She tells officials Winfield also grabbed her son and began to pull him out of the vehicle by the back of his neck.

According to the complaint, Winfield continued to hit her and her son and eventually pushed them both to the ground and the suspects were able to get away with the vehicle.

Both people involved in the bump-and-run carjacking were able to provide descriptions of the suspects to police.

Later that evening, officials observed the stolen black GMC Terrain traveling on N. 25th and Hadley and when they initiated a traffic stop.

According to police, while attempting to stop the stolen vehicle, a pursuit began -- reaching speeds of 70 miles-per-hour. After two miles, the pursuit was terminated as officers lost sight of the vehicle.

During the pursuit, officials say the suspect disregarded multiple stop signs and traffic lights, putting other drivers in danger. As well as driving through multiple fields, including a park in the area of N. 26th and W. Medford Avenue. Officers say many adults and children were seen running on foot away from the stolen vehicle as it went through the park.

Shortly after 10:15 p.m., officers observed the stolen GMC Terrain being driven by Winfield once again.

Winfield was seen exiting the driver's seat and walked behind a chain link fence near a bushy area and discard unknown items. Those items would later be identified as an Apple iPad Mini, belonging to the GMC Terrain owner, a black Ruger pellet gun, a GMC car key, Chevy car key and a house key belonging to the victim as well.

Winfield was taken into custody and is now facing the following charges:
