Jewish Community Center evacuated due to unknown odor, irritant

WHITEFISH BAY -- The Jewish Community Center (JCC) in Whitefish Bay has been evacuated due to an unknown odor or irritant.

Officials with the North Shore Fire Department tell FOX6 News the initial call for this case came in just after 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 16th. The odor was apparently causing throat and nose irritation to those at the JCC.

The odor appears to be contained to one area on the main level of the building -- near the main entrance. Officials say monitoring equipment does not indicate this being a natural gas leak.

Four people have been evaluated for the irritation. But no one has requested to be transported to a hospital due to the odor.
