Father's Day with Milwaukee County Parks: Military vehicle display, beer, golf and more!

HALES CORNERS -- Sunday, June 19th was a day to honor dads -- and FOX6's Julie Collins spent the morning at Boerner Botanical Gardens in Hales Corners previewing events going on throughout the day as part of "Father's Day with Milwaukee County Parks."

The Boerner Botanical Gardens, an internationally renowned horticultural showplace in Milwaukee County offers gardeners, plant lovers and students the opportunity to take in the colors and scents of a variety of collections -- and Sunday was a beautiful day to take it all in, with sunshine and temperatures in the 80s.

Special on Father's Day at the Boerner Botanical Gardens, about a dozen military vehicles were on display from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. -- presented by Members of the Midwest Military Vehicle Association. On display were restored and unrestored former military-transportation vehicles -- from a Vietnam-Era ambulance to large-tracked, armored military vehicles.

The Boerner Botanical Gardens will be open from 8:00 a.m. to dusk on Father's Day.

Also at the Boerner Botanical Gardens on Sunday morning was a special Father's Day Brunch from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. featuring a Bloody Mary Bar, smoked salmon, bourbon sirloin, chicken alfredo and more.
