Caught on camera: Police seek suspects in car break-ins on Milwaukee's East Side

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are asking the public to help identify several suspects who broke into at least eight cars in a parking lot in the area of Ogden Avenue and Humboldt around 1:40 a.m. on June 21st.

Break-ins on Milwaukee's East Side

The video shows six occupants of a silver four-door Honda get out of the vehicle. All six were dressed in different clothing and most had a string-type backpack that they were carrying.

They all appeared to be wearing finger mittens on their hands and holding flashlights. One subject was wearing a white plastic hockey-type mask.

The suspects broke the windows to the vehicles and ransacked the cars but police said no items were reported missing from any of the entered/damaged cars.

Chantele Asaleh

Chantele Asaleh's vehicle was broken into about a mile away from where this happened.

"It feels so unfair. Frustrating, financially inconvenient. You just feel violated," Asaleh said.  "I saw the glass and I just knew immediately someone had broken and busted into the window on the passenger side."

Asaleh took her vehicle in to get it fixed -- at a shop that has seen countless people in the same situation.

"Wake up in the morning with a bunch of phone calls, emails," Tom Almaghrabi, Safe Auto Glass owner said.

FOX6 News spoke with  Almaghrabi on Wednesday, June 22nd, and he said in just two days, he repaired at least 40 windows -- broken by crooks.

He offered some advice:

"Keep your car clean. Nothing in the car,"  Almaghrabi said.

"You can`t make it obvious what you have left behind," Asaleh said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Milwaukee police at 414-935-7211.
