Driver crashes vehicle into storage garage at Kenosha Yacht Club

KENOSHA -- Officials with the Kenosha Fire Department tell FOX6 News a vehicle crashed into a storage garage at the Kenosha Yacht Club on Wednesday, June 22nd.

It happened around 5:00 p.m.

We're told the driver of the vehicle, a 20-year-old man, suffered minor injuries.

The man was headed westbound on 51st Place when he failed to negotiate a turn and crashed into the garage.

The vehicle hit the side of the garage, and went into the garage. It didn't hit the nearby main building, which houses the Breakwater Bar and Grill.

The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The vehicle was later removed from the garage. We're told no one was inside the garage when this happened.

We're told speed was a factor in this crash. The driver was issued citations for not having insurance and for driving too fast for conditions.

A damage estimate for the garage hasn't been released.
