"Blow Up The Beach" fireworks finale will be back for the 2016 South Shore Frolics

MILWAUKEE -- The Bay View Lions Club and Milwaukee Alderman Tony Zielinski say the grand finales for the fireworks shows at the South Shore Frolics will indeed be back for the 2016 festival.

Officials with the Bay View Lions Club say the grand finales will take place on Friday, July 15th and Saturday, July 16th at South Shore Park.

The 40-year-tradition surrounding the finale known by some as "Blow Up The Beach" had recently been called into question. Some said you can hear it and feel it across the surrounding area -- and that led to complaints from neighbors.

A meeting was held earlier this month to discuss the finales. A vote followed -- with 60 opposed to the grand finale on Friday and Saturday nights, and 21 in favor.

Alderman Zielinski indicated in a Facebook post (below) on Friday, June 24th the following:

"Given that there are those that feel the notice for the meeting was not clear I will support the fireworks as they have been launched in the past."

Zielinski also said after the festival, there will be a meeting to clear up any confusion on this matter.
