Janesville man attacked with machete; police searching for 34-year-old suspect
JANESVILLE -- A Janesville man suffered several lacerations to his arms and hands after police say he was attacked with a machete. Police are now searching for a 34-year-old man in connection to the attack.
The incident occurred Friday evening, June 24th near N. Chatham and Laurel Avenue in Janesville.
Upon arrival, police say they located a 31-year-old Janesville man bleeding from several lacerations to his arms and hands. He was transported to Mercy Hospital and treated for significant, but non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation revealed the victim had been involved in an argument with another male suspect about a theft.
Police say the suspect then retrieved a machete inside a nearby residence on N. Palm Street, and attacked the Janesville man with it.
Authorities executed a search warrant into home on N. Palm Street, but made no arrests.
Police are now trying to track down 34-year-old Marcus Kendall. He may be driving in a 2001 black Grand Prix with Wisconsin plate "816-VUN."
