Kewaskum woman headed to prison for texting while driving moments before fatal crash

KEWASKUM -- A Kewaskum woman is headed to prison for three years -- for sending a text message moments before a deadly crash.

Heather Cleveland

In March, a jury found 27-year-old Heather Cleveland guilty of homicide by negligent use of a motor vehicle.

Prosecutors say Cleveland rear-ended a pickup truck in 2014 -- pushing it into the path of another vehicle.

The driver of that third vehicle, 63-year-old Linda Trotter, was killed.

Phone records show Cleveland was texting just before the crash.
