Police: Several hurt in chain-reaction crash; driver failed to stop at 35th and Fond du Lac

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police say several people were injured in a chain-reaction crash that happened early on Sunday morning, June 26th on Fond du Lac Avenue at 35th Street.

It happened around 12:10 a.m.

Police say a vehicle headed northwest on Fond du Lac Avenue failed to stop at a red light at 35th Street, and that vehicle rear-ended a vehicle that was stopped at the red light.

This set off the chain-reaction crash, which involved two additional vehicles that collided with each other. One of the vehicles hit a Milwaukee County Transit System bus that was stopped at the red light.

Several people were hurt, including three people that were on the bus.

At least two people were taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The others were treated at the scene by the Milwaukee Fire Department.

Police say the driver of the vehicle that caused the crash was detained at the scene -- and the investigation continues.
