3 finalists named for Wisconsin Ethics Commission leader

MADISON — Three finalists from a list of 23 applicants have been selected to be interviewed to become the first leader of Wisconsin's new Ethics Commission.


They are Timothy Samuelson, Laura Rose and Brian Bell. The commission was set to interview all three on Tuesday, June 28th.

Samuelson is an assistant attorney general with the Wisconsin Department of Justice who heads the Medicaid fraud and elder abuse unit. Rose is a former deputy director of the Wisconsin Legislative Council, the nonpartisan attorneys who advise lawmakers on legislation.

Bell is a budget and policy analyst for the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services. He also previously worked for the Government Accountability Board as an ethics and accountability specialist.

Whoever is selected will serve a four-year term and must be approved by the Senate.
