Rules of the road: Kramp hangs at Road America, checks out teen driving classes

MILWAUKEE -- Check your mirrors and put your seat belt on -- we're going back to driver's ed. Brian Kramp spent the morning at Road America -- participating in a teen driving class.

About Road America: Teen Driving Program (website)

The Teen Driving Program goes beyond typical drivers education by putting participants in common emergency situations while in a safe, controlled, off-street environment. Participants practice collision avoidance techniques that include: emergency lane changes, braking, skid control and a variety of other fundamental car control drills.

A valid driver's license or learner's permit is required.

Participants will use a Road America supplied vehicle and parents are highly encouraged to participate with their teen.

School supplied cars include: Chevrolet Cruze, Impala, Malibu or similar.

For a limited time only, the cost of tuition will be subsidized by West Bend. The programs retail price is $250.

Price: $140 per person / $80 for West Bend Customers.

A lunch break is provided during the day and is usually 40-60 minutes. Please feel free to bring a bag lunch, take advantage of our Chef’s Selection box lunch (order when registering) or visit Elkhart Lake or Plymouth.
