Safe Exchange Zone at Franklin Police Department

FRANKLIN — The Franklin Police Department is the latest to add a “Safe Exchange Zone” at its police department for internet purchases.

It is an effort to keep you safe when meeting strangers you may be buying something from or selling something to online.

There are two parking spots at the Franklin Police Department — located on Loomis Road near Ryan Road in Franklin. Those parking spots are designated “Safe Exchange Zone” spots — and are under 24/7 video surveillance.

Franklin police are recommending that exchanges take place during daylight hours and users call 911 if there’s an emergency.
