"Over-the-top exciting!" Music, food and fun going strong on day two of Summerfest

MILWAUKEE -- The music, food and fun was going strong on day two of Summerfest, Thursday, June 30th. Maier Festival Park was filled with families who make the annual festival a tradition.

If success was measured in dance moves, day two was one for the history books. The music brought people to their feet as they sampled some delicious food and danced their way through Summerfest.

Jane Ciambrone found her own fun -- splashing around while her parents sat inside the JCI Stage. She proudly watched family members perform on stage at the Big Gig.

"It's over-the-top exciting! The band came together as the result of an English project that they had to do and it just continued throughout the years, growing and building strength," said Ciambrone.

This was their third year on stage at Summerfest, but the anticipation leading up to it is always great.

"We were talking about how nobody got any sleep last night. We're just so excited about today," said Ciambrone.

The energy was all over the park as day two did not disappoint.

With new security in place at the festival, there have been lines at the admission gates.

If you're dropped off at the Main Gate on the north end of Maier Festival Park, where many of the buses and cabs are dropping people off, you may want to take a walk down to the Mid Gate or South Gate as those lines seem to be significantly shorter.
