Inmate suspected of attacking three employees at prison in Allouez has died

ALLOUEZ -- An inmate suspected of attacking three employees at a Northeast Wisconsin prison last week has died.

Officials with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections say Francisco Flores-Rocha died on Monday, July 4th.

The DOC did not release the cause of death.

The prison in Allouez was on temporary lockdown last Wednesday, June 29th after two employees were stabbed and beaten and a third was injured. The three employees were released from the hospital that same day.

Flores-Rocha refused medical attention after sustaining minor cuts on his hand.

The DOC did not confirm that Flores-Rocha was the inmate involved, but gave his name in response to a question about the incident.

The DOC has referred the incident to the Brown County Sheriff's Office for investigation.

The sheriff's office said there is so far no indication the death is suspicious.

According to online prison records, Flores-Rocha was sentenced to 20 years in prison and 10 years extended supervision following a first-degree intentional homicide conviction in Kenosha County in 2005.
