24-year-old tow truck driver from Fond du Lac killed in crash on I-41, south of Highway 23

FOND DU LAC -- A 24-year-old Fond du Lac man was killed in a crash involving three vehicles, including a semi, that happened on I-41 south of Highway 23 in Fond du Lac on Tuesday, July 5th.

Authorities were called to the scene just after 11:30 a.m.

According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, a semi, driven by a 46-year-old Fond du Lac man, was headed northbound on I-41 and was slowing behind a Chevy Traverse, driven by a 32-year-old Neenah man, stopped due to construction.

A tow truck, also headed northbound struck the semi, causing it to strike the Chevy Traverse.

The driver of the tow truck was killed.

The drivers of the semi and Chevy Traverse weren't hurt.

I-41 NB was closed for approximately four hours as crews worked this crash scene.

The name of the man who was killed has not been released.
