MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police on Sunday morning, July 10th were on the scene of a fatal shooting -- the second to occur overnight.
It happened around 2:00 a.m.
Police say a 36-year-old man was shot at least once, and he died at the scene.
The area near 37th and Hopkins was shut down for hours as police worked to piece together what happened.
"Two to three shots," DJ Rhodes said.
"It just looked like chaos. (The victim) was with somebody else -- one of his so-called friends, and they said when he ran out the tavern, the dudes ran out of here, from Ealy's Oo and shot him," a relative of the victim said.
"He came back over here, holding his side, like, 'can you all help me?'" Rhodes said.
Officials with the Milwaukee Fire Department attempted life-saving measures, but unfortunately, the man died.
"That was my son-in-law," a relative of the victim said.
Family members gathered at the scene Sunday -- distraught over the senseless violence they say happens far too often in Milwaukee.
"The violence needs to stop. And if we don`t, as parents and good citizens, try to do everything we can to stop it then it`s going to be forever going on," Ward said.
Police said Sunday morning the circumstances surrounding this shooting are unclear -- and under investigation.
FOX6 News spotted several surveillance cameras on buildings near the scene -- which were hopefully able to capture something that could help in this investigation.
