"It means a lot to us:" Kids hand out goody bags to Menomonee Falls officers

MENOMONEE FALLS -- A group of kids in Menomonee Falls may not be big, but they came up with a big idea to give back!

On Saturday, July 30th dozens of children assembled goody bags as a token of their appreciation and surprised police officers with the Menomonee Falls Police Department with them.

There were enough bags for all 70 dispatchers and officers, loaded with snacks and thank you cards.

The most surprising part, a five-year-old boy organized the surprise event!

"It's pretty cool, just the fact that he recognizes some of the things going on today, it means a lot to us. We really couldn't do our job without the support of the community and this is a very welcome show of appreciation," said Sergeant Mike Douglas, Menomonee Falls Police Department.

This is just one of the many recent efforts by the community to thank law enforcement for doing their jobs.
