Red Cross assisting 3 adults, 9 children after fire at single-family home on N. 48th

MILWAUKEE -- The American Red Cross is assisting 12 people -- three adults and nine children after a fire Sunday, July 31st on N. 48th Street in Milwaukee.

The Milwaukee Fire Department was called out to the scene around 8:00 p.m. for a fire on the second floor of the home. Officials say the fire spread to the attic.



According to Red Cross officials, the fire left a single-family home unlivable.

The Red Cross is providing financial assistance for items such as emergency food, shelter and clothing.



Bob Wade with the Red Cross met with the family to help them begin the recovery process.
